About Me

MY STORY

It all started with my father Badriprasad Jaidev Verma who supplied horses to Bollywood in the 60’s and 70’s. He was also a stunt double for some actors and was associated with the cult hit Sholay for stunts. He ensured that the Actors and Actresses were trained in horse riding for the movie.

My father also went on to produce feature films like Jaan Ki Baazi, Kroadh, Naam O Nishaan & Vansh. He was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his contribution to Indian Cinema.

I, Manohar Verma, have created a niche by working on various movies as an Action Director. I have worked on various movies and have been associated with renowned Producers and Directors in the Film Fraternity. I have helped in the creation of numerous Advertisements which had some breath-taking shots / visuals / stunts and have created a special Brand recall amongst consumers for these products.

Over the years I have associated with Top Bollywood, Regional & International Directors, Producers and Actors. When it comes to action sequences in movies or advertisements, my name comes among the Top of the list of Stunt Directors.

I have been nominated for and have received Awards across Indian Cinema and the Advertising Industry. My association with action and stunts has led to me being known as “Action Manohar” in the Film Industry. I have been training several top Actors for Fights & Actions.

I always strive to create new & unseen stunts in Films and Advertisements and my Director’s know I ensure that they get the best action sequences as per their expectation. The Stunts I have performed and  / or directed over the years have involved Cars, Motor Bikes, Horses, High Falls, Glass breaks, Cable Work, Jerks, Hanging, Jumping, Scuba diving & Motor Boats

Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan surprised his crew members after performing his own stunts for a recent action-packed commercial.

The commercial’s action director Manohar Verma told ETimes that the crew was prepared with a body double, but the 79-year-old refused one and said that he preferred doing his own stunts.

“We had to take a lot of precautions too.

“Amitabh had to smash three toughened glass panels one after the other and he did it in almost one take for each of the stunts.

“But he aced it like a pro and clearly symbolises the fact that age is just a number.”

Manohar also commented that no other actor could compete with Amitabh as he was like a ‘hand-book for cinema’ when it came to all kinds of scenes including action ones.

“His punctuality, his on-set ethics are phenomenal.

“He prefers to stay on set as much as he can and observe the smallest action. He only goes to his vanity van during the break,” he said.
